Initiate Recovery Program

Mission

Effectively initiate the positive change process towards successful long term recovery from substance abuse and mental health.

Objectives

  • Improve awareness of treatment options for patients seeking long term treatment including adult outpatient programs such as our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) as well as residential treatment programs
  • Educate patients and support systems on the dynamics of co-occurring disorders
  • Successfully treat and motivate patients to continue their recovery

Co-occurring Focused Program

  • Motivational Interviewing upon admission and seek assistance from support system to resolve ambivalence regarding ongoing treatment
  • Incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy strategies to positively change negative thinking into recovery-focused hopeful change
  • Utilize licensed chemical dependency clinical supervisors to facilitate chemical dependency groups and partner with AA to hold weekly group
  • Educate and promote physical activity through yoga and recreational therapy as alternative healthy coping strategies to substance abuse

Change Incentive Program

Stabilization Track – The Stabilization Track of the Change Incentive Program is the most acute environment of care at our facility. The primary focus is to treat patients with a goal of stepping them up into the Transitions track during their inpatient stay at Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire.

Mission

To ensure that each patient has been assessed for barriers and challenges in treatment recovery with greater focus on social and life skills, and safe discharge planning to supportive environments

Objectives

  • Improve compliance with medication treatment both inpatient and post-discharge
  • Improve basic social and life skills to increase functioning in the community
  • Partner with community mental health programs to ensure continuity of care that supports the challenges of this intensive mental health population

Skill-Focused Programming

  • Psychotherapy groups on treatment compliance, self-advocacy, discharge planning and community resources(case management groups)
  • Recreational therapy groups will be bulk of programming to focus on enhancing social skills and life skills
  • Incentive-based programming system providing patients with necessary tools they will need to take with them to navigate community re-integration

Transitions Track – The Transitions track of the Change Incentive Program serves as a step-up from our more acute environment of care.

Mission

Flexible and accommodating programming based on individualized treatment and general census with focus on blend of social/life skills and process/psychoeducation programming

Objectives

  • Improve compliance with medication treatment both inpatient and post-discharge
  • Improve basic social and life skills to increase functioning in the community
  • Inclusion of family and support system into the treatment process and discharge planning

Flexible and Blended Programming

  • Incentive-based programming system providing patients with necessary tools they will need to take with them to navigate community re-integration
  • Psychotherapy groups on treatment compliance, self-advocacy, discharge planning, accessing community resources and process groups
  • Recreational therapy groups will be bulk of programming to focus on enhancing social skills, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and life skills
