Eric Amoh, CEO
Eric Amoh PA-C, MBA, CAQ-Psychiatry joined the Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire in January 2019. Eric joins BHB from Westchester Health Network (WMC) in New York State, a tertiary academic medical center where he served as Senior Vice President of Clinical Services. In that role, Eric had leadership accountability for a multi-facility comprehensive behavioral health program spanning inpatient, outpatient, and emergency psychiatric services across the lifespan. He additionally had responsibility for the network’s primary and specialty outpatient medical clinics including operations of a large AIDS care program. During his tenure at WMC, Eric led significant operational improvements that included the rollout of a robust tele-psychiatric program, formation of a Stabilization Center as an alternative to avoidable ED utilization, new service offerings in addiction medicine, workforce development, and a milestone achievement of the institution’s ambulatory clinics as a level 3 patient-centered medical home by the National Committee on Quality Assurance. Prior to joining WMC, Eric held several leadership roles with America Service Group, a national for-profit provider of correctional medical and mental health services in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and in New York.
Eric has a clinical, academic, and business background. He is a graduate of Long Island University/Brooklyn Hospital Center in NYS as a Physician Assistant and has practiced clinically in primary care and correctional health settings.
Eric received his Masters of Business Administration from Eastern University in St. Davis Pennsylvania. Eric is currently Clinical Associate Professor at Pace University Physician Assistant Program in Pleasantville, NY.
Rey Perez, CFO
Rey Perez joined Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire as Chief Financial Officer in August 2019. In this position, Rey is responsible for the overall financial management and strategy of the hospital, including oversight of business office operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger monthly and yearly close, budget preparation and strong FTE management. His career began at Tenet Healthcare as an associate on the revenue cycle team. Prior to joining Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire, Rey held a role as Area Chief Financial Officer/Controller at Kindred Healthcare. Rey has also held roles in other companies as Chief Financial Relations, Regional Accounting Manager, Regional Field Analyst, Business Office Director and Assistant Controller. Throughout his nearly 18 years in revenue cycle, accounting, auditing, budget development and financial planning , Rey has established a reputation for building world class winning teams and for aligning financial and business metrics supporting the company’s business strategies and growth. He graduated from DeVry University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management. He received his Master of Science in Accounting from DeVry University-Keller School of Management. Rey is married and is a father of three boys. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, fishing and traveling.
Dr. Jamal Rafique, MD – Medical Director of Psychiatry
Dr. Jamal Rafique, MD is a Psychiatry Specialist having more than 32 years of diverse experience specializing in Adult Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Geriatric Psychiatry. He has been with the Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire as Medical Director of Psychiatry for 10 years.
Dr. Adan Alvarez, MD – Medical Director of Integrated Behavioral Medicine Program
Dr. Adan Alvarez is a native Texan born in Brownville. He is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and did his residency in Family Medicine in Daytona Beach, Florida. He is boarded in Family Medicine, and worked in the Memorial Hermann Medical Group, before joining Contemporary Medicine Associates in 2019. Dr. Alvarez takes a holistic approach to practicing medicine, caring for the body as well as the mind. One of his priorities is helping patients make healthy lifestyle changes and develop healthy habits. Dr. Alvarez is passionate about providing the best care for his family practice patients and medically treating people with substance use disorders.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Alvarez also does preventive medical care such as annual wellness visits, sports physicals and well woman exams. In addition to prevention he also cares for a wide variety of acute and chronic medical problems. These include infections or injuries as well as long term medical conditions ranging from hypertension to both insulin and non-insulin dependent diabetes. Now he is focusing on depression and addiction as he believes that these issues always compound other medical problems if not addressed. If any issues are beyond Dr. Alvarez’s scope of practice, he makes sure that his patients get in to see specialists in a timely manner.
Cheryl Grenas, CNO
Cheryl Grenas is a highly skilled Nursing Professional with qualifications and expertise in providing high quality nursing care and unparalleled patient service.
Cheryl served in the United States Navy for 20 years, achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander, and is a veteran of 2 deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2011). She was awarded two Navy Commendation Medals and four Navy Achievement Medals during her service.
Cheryl has extensive executive-level experience in the acute and behavioral hospital settings as well as free-standing Emergency Departments. Cheryl has expertise in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, acquiring DNV and JC certifications.
Tazia Jackson-Robinson, Director of Business Development
Tazia Jackson-Robinson has been a part of the Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire team since 2014. Tazia has worked in health care marketing and business development for a span of her career. Tazia started in the non-profit realm as a Donor Relations/Account Manager for the bone marrow registry Be the Match, where she marketed, planned, and developed outreach recruitment for donors to donate bone marrow to patients with rare blood cancers that needed an unrelated matching bone marrow donor.
Tazia began her career with Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire in September of 2014. She started out as a Business Development Liaison and shortly thereafter was promoted to Senior Business Development Liaison. Throughout this time Tazia built thriving relationships within the community and utilized her background in community relations and analyzing data to maximize development. Tazia became the Director of Business Development in May 2019.
Tazia holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a concentration in Health Care Administration from Jackson State University. She is currently working towards her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care Administration from Delta State University.
